Rendering In Passes - Useful?

I agree with the last few post; the ability to do multipass rendering would greatly enhance Blender’s ability to fit within a multi-app production pipeline.

The way Blender will really come into its own, vis-a-vis hi-end productions*, is when a studio exploits its open source to come up with an effect that can’t be done in an established commerical app (e.g. Maya). (This is what happended with GIMP re:image processing. ) Multipass rendering would enable Blender to create output that could then more flexiably (sp?) be imported to other apps.

  • Not counting pre-viz, as in SpiderMan 2, which is a great feather in Blender’s cap.

Oh, my stars. How I could use this! How badly do I need this… right now!!

Is it ready yet?

(P.S: after reading the article on “Non-Raytraced Ambient Occlusion” cited above… :o :o :o “bawwwwllll! I am not worthy! I am not worthy!”

Wow.

Superdan,

Would it be possible for you to post some samples of your professional work?
