Rendering issue: Does not displayed assigned material.

This is my first modeling attempt with blender by using a blender cookie tutorial (http://cgcookie.com/blender/2012/01/27/character-modeling-creating-a-cartoon-style-groundhog-part-03/). I have been making a groundhog. The trouble is that when I render him, his eyes do no show the material settings that I have applied. I.E. the eyes are the same color as him (brown). In normal view I can see that his pupils are black, and his eyes are white, but after rendering, they are just solid brown. I have checked the outliners and it is checked to be rendered. I have attached the file. If anyone can help it would be greatly appreciated, I have spent a few hours now trying to solve this.

Thank you in advance for any help.

Not sure if you need it, but in the Object tab for the eyes models, you have Duplication set to Face, if i set it to None, the eye are rendered.
While it’s on Face, the eyes are not rendered at all

Thank you so much!! That was the issue.
