Rendering Problems

Hi all
I’m a newbie in blender and I have Questions:

  • What image format are supported in Blender for Texturing ?
  • Why I don’t see the texture on the object in the 3D view , I see it only when I render with internal renderer ?
    _ Why when I render with YafRay I get the objects rendered without textures ?
    _ Why when I apply a texture to a box ( with box mapping) and I press P to go in GE,
    I get the box with the texture mapped on only one side ( flat mapping) ?

  1. basicly… it’s best to use png or tga for textures… jpg works too.
  2. because there’s 2 very different ways you can texture an object… a: for a game, in which case you’d see it in your 3d view as well, and b: for rendering, and then you only see it in the render. (There’s crossovers between the two, but this will start you understanding)
  3. No idea… I don’t use yafray
  4. Because P starts the game engine… what else did you expect?

Why when I render with YafRay I get the objects rendered without textures ?
It could be that YafRay doesn’t support the image format you are using. Please check YafRay documentation for more information about the issue.
