Im trying to find convenient methods to tweak-render a still over and over again. So I came across the ‘J’ key, thanks Jonathan, and found out about the render box with shift-B.
Now, is there a way to keep the previously rendered image and paste in the rendered region? (like it was part of the previous render) That way you can see the change in the whole context which is useful.
That would be a nice feature, wouldn’t it? I don’t believe that’s a possibility with the present release of blender, though you could do it manually with gimp or photoshop…
Where do you make feature requests? I’d like to see that in future releases!
Cant you just use the slots at the bottom of the render window?
Render a “shift-B” section, then change to slot 2, render another, then flip between slot 1 and 2 (or more if needed)… and so on.
That’s how i tweak things by rendering a small portion and comparing the difference.
But it had been nice to have a render area like in overlay on top of a previous full render though.
Not to underestimate the task, but that should be rather easy to implement, shouldn’t it?
And since we arrived at feature suggestions, two little arrows representing the j-hotkey would be awesome too! I mean that’s really minor though. The overlay thing would be much more awesome!!
