I have a long animation that needs to be rendered out, and i’m not completely sure about the lighting and textures in all points.
So, i was wondering if it was possible to set your camera to say, render every 20 frames and save them as images, instead of going through and doing it manually.
If your just looking to check any movements you can render your animation in solid or wire frame by hitting ctrl and the little render button to the right of the interface. It will render fast if your scenes not to complicated. About a frame a secound. You can also render just the layers that you want. You dont have to render your whole scene. Do research on layers and rendering. I dont know anything about rendering every 10 or 20 frames or so and dont know if it would really help you anyway. People will tell you to render without textures and such, but with a fairly simple scene, this advice doesnt help much…what are you wanting to check in particular?
Set the output type (in the Format panel) to JPEG, TIFF (instead of AVI Raw etc.) to get stills instead of video.
In the Anim panel, at the bottom, you’ll see a box labeled Step: . Enter 20 in there and Blender will only render every 20th frame.
