Rendering with radiosity

When rendering with radiosity enabled, and you have objects in the scene that emit light, why does the cursor have to count up to a certain amount of numbers before rendering?? Is there any way I can reduce that number? (other than by having less light-emitting objects)

when you precalculate radiosity [radiosity buttons, hit collect meshes and stuff] you get the same cursor

the cursor counts the number of iterations, or shoots of engery. The total number of iterations before the solving stops can be set by max iterations in the radiosity buttons or by setting the convergence [a lower convergence takes longer with better results, higher looks worse runs faster]. [higher number [0 is consdered infinite] of iterations looks better, takes longer…]

thanx, that explains it.

I was thinkin of using radiosity for the lighthouse bulb, but changed my mind. THanx anyway.

Geee z3r0 d “[higher number [0 is consdered infinite] of iterations looks better, takes longer…]”

How long does infinity take?
