HI, I am creating an office and need to repeat several times an specific office chair I downloaded from the manufacturer. I am using mirrors and array modifiers, but the scene tends to get considerable slow.
Do you know if using the link duplicate (alt + d) uses less resources ?
What do you usually do when you need to replicate an asset several times ?
I’m not the best person to answer this, but I’ll try to explain a little bit of what I know.
The amount of memory an object takes can be reduced by sharing data with other objects. You can share meshes, materials, textures, etc. this way. When you use Alt-D, you’re linking the mesh and other data from the original object, and these can be selectively applied depending on how you link them.
