hey, looking good, i really like the idea. a few crits though, the sky looks a bit flat, and the wings looks too bright, and glowy, also, the glow on the water below the figure looks too small, i dont know if this is what you intended but i think it should be actually glowing instead of just a flourescent spot. also the sword(if thats what it) is bears a strong resemblance to a weapon in halo.
that just my oppinion though, otherwise great concept and nicely executed
hey, thnx
th reflection is due to the water not being a perfect flat( increased the Nor value to get a resemblance to real water)
the material i used for both the wings and saber is a transparent emitter that’s why it’s so weird loking( mainly due to the lighting)
and the saber…yea, it’s inspired from halo:)
why is it entitled “repentance”?
why not?
well, the idea came when i saw some documentary about the end of the world and how god would come, and epic battle between good and evil, etc… that stuff
it said that all those who repent shall be received in the kingdom of heaven and since i wanted to make a weird priest/angel with armor, well you get the point:D

I think it works, there is a long tradition of doing these archetypes and its very important, a image like this compresses far more meaning then just describing it because the viewer forms their own meaning in relation to their own balance of archetypes that form their ego.
I like the “this is what came out” idea also, to me this means you are exploring your mind using art, I submit you should not underestimate the power of that.
Thanks for sharing your work ![]()
hey, thnx, i really appreciate that:D
i see, i get the point. so repent now:eyebrowlift:
i think you need to repent for posting this picture here.
KIDDING! I swear I’m kidding.
I like the pic, tis cool. The thing I don’t like about it most is the pose. The hands could use some work too, especially the right hand. The left hand looks a little akward in it’s pose. Also, his right arm has a very ‘stiff’ feel to it. I picture him floating up, and it looks more like he’s ‘rising’…you know, not trying to move up, but he is just a static figure that slid skyward. Sorry for being unclear.
Nextly, the skin material is off, and his clothes and stuff too. The sword and wings make me think it’s not meant for photorealism, but a more stylised, look, even if it’s just painted, or drawn. The clothes and skin don’t really match this, they look pretty plastic, as people always say. Perhaps, try increasing reflection, and give it less hardness would help it. Maybe some SS, but i don’t really think you should in this image. Can’t hurt to try
As other’s have said, the reflection on water is weird. If you aren’t, use Ray mirror. Also, the water looks like it’s just a plane with an image that looks reflecty, and modeled to suit water. I can’t really say how to fix it, just making an observation. The sky also looks flat. The water does not dissapear to the horizon at all, really. Looks like a sky backdrop fell into the middle of the ocean :D.
Finally, i dunno if you’d wanna change this or not, cause i like it, but the light glare on his leg is either to large of bloom (i don’t think it is bloom though) or unrealistic lighting. However, i like the effect it gives, so i don’t know if you want to change this, or what.
Anyhoo, Thats a cool lookin guy. I like his whole head area. Great start, good idea. This has bunches of potential. That’s awesome
