“Mist” is the German word for manure. “Bullshit” is shit produced by a bull (which would be “Stierenscheisse” in German). Of course, connotation is an entirely different thing.
By the way, the word is spelled “believe”. And it’s not just you, I see this misspelling so often it makes me want to cry. And while we’re at it, language names are spelled with Capital Letters.
I remember a similar story on the naming of Rolls-Royce…
As they already had Silver Shadow /Silver Spirit etc the idea was to call one the Silver Mist. Upon hearing that Mist is manure in German, they canned that idea…
As to the changing of the button, that would be a bit much and open the doors to all kinds of changes. As this is the first such complaint that I know of, I say drop it…
i’d like to say, that fog is the more common term for this type of feature. fog, volume fog… if i would search this option, especially as a newbie in blender, i would search for “fog” and not for “mist”. in maya and max it’s called fog, too.
I think they should rename the Dutch city of Scheveningen, because in Japanese the pronunciation of that town means “perverted human being”. Seriously, it cracks Japanese people up just to know there’s a town with that name.
Hahaha…:ba: Yeah but I think if you were to write using the English alphabet it would be ‘sukebe ningen’
But the pronunciation is pretty well much the same.
This became an interesting topic, but whatever, mist/fog, doesn’t make too much difference in my opinion.

sure?
Huh. That explains most of my renders then…8-P
LOOL
funny discussion. Since i think the original post was a joke
There are way too many common words which have a dirty or vulgar meaning in other languages.
A few examples:
Germany Company “Siemens” pronounced Semen’s or is that Seamen’s?
In english you say Vixen to mean a female fox or a foxy lady. The same pronounciation is slang for “Jacking Off” in German.
Sega supposedly means “Jacking Off” in Italian. At least thats what a friend of mine told me. He always had a big laugh when we would play Sonic the Hedgehog. (“Seeeeegaaaaaa…”)
By the way there is actually a Town in Germany called “F*cking”. They get their roadsigns constantly stolen.
