Resident Evil 2 corridor remake

I’ve struggled to get to grips with cycles, so decided to try and re-make a scene from one of my favorite games. Chose a simple one to make sure I got it finished.

RE2 background reference:

Not gone for an exact copy angle/colours wise. Not sure I like the lighting on mine, feel like I lost some atmosphere. Any brighter though and it just looked washed out.

Would very much appreciate any feedback!

Hey, that’s coming along quite nicely, (I saw you post with over 100 views and no responses so I decided to be the first). I think there is still a lot of work to be done, the scene still looks a bit cartoony, unless that’s what you are going for.

Thanks for the feedback! It’s not what I was going for, but I do agree. I’m not sure how to make it look more real though?

Maybe its the color? I really don’t know, but the green looks a little bit too bright and cheery. =P

Seriously though, your texturing is pretty good, but it may need just a little more of the grunge. It seems that the lights on the walls aren’t casting quite enough light, and the wall is missing some reflectivity. I think the textures are quite flat, and the materials look need work to get them looking better.

Yeah, I think it’s the lack reflectivity making it look slightly cartoonish. Add some bump mapping to the walls and those pipes too.
