While I wait to see if anyone can answer my animation question I’ve decided to “zombie-up” a mate of mine. Although I’ve stuck to a quite basic low-polygon shape it’s the first time I’ve actually UV mapped something by stitching vertices together… I found the process quite time consuming and mostly stuck to unwrapping using the “from window” command as the LSCM function didn’t give me straight enough maps to paint onto. I found that you really need to think about how you are going to unwrap something before you do. I gave it little thought and have ended up with some visible seems and funny pulls where the mapping is not quite right (notice on picture 4 the slight pull to the right of the belt buckle!). I also split him into sections to make it easier… Head, body, legs hands and feet - I don’t know if this is the best way or not!?! On picture 2 you will notice some pixilation around the bottom of the neck… This is where the head shape joins the body and I think it’s caused by a difference in texture resolution but haven’t bothered to sort it out yet.
Any other hints or tips are most welcome!
