We are very happy you’re enjoying the Quest!
Hehe 90% of the recent work is only from @Rute_Perdiz …if we worked the two full time, this would be  well… much faster

Hey guys!

I hope you had a good weekend!
Today I started to paint the textures for the diatonic accordion.
As I was not sure how to make a pattern, it took me a long time to find a way that would work.
Tomorrow I will try to finish the painting completely.

Hope you like it!
Best regards,

Hello Friends!
After a lot of trials and considerations, I’ve decided that the game engine that we’ll use for Resilience Satelle r.i.c.e. will be Unigine:

Which was the very first engine I had in mind since 2009/2010.

Due to being a very restricted game engine, at the time, I’ve walked towards Unreal (the first one to have Linux support while being made public for a low fee (30 Euros by month, at the time) and Unity (this one because most of my clients use it, but the Linux version came very late).

Now Unigine has a “Community SDK” released by the “do it for free, pay when you succeed” philosophy.
I’ve tried it for many months and now I’m 100% sure that is a perfect fit for Resilience Satelle r.i.c.e.!

After Blender, this is the most solid, well thought and robust piece of software I ever tried!

Until next time!
Best regards
Rogério

Oh interesting! last time I checked UNIGINE was quite costly. But that was a while back.

Is it easy to export the final project from UNIGINE to Linux, Windows and Mac? Or do you need to do a lot of tweeking for every single operating system?

Cheers,
hum-bee

Hey @hum-bee,
For now, exports to Linux and Windows. The one made for Linux will work on Windows, but they plan to export to consoles too in future versions.

Hey guys!

Today I continued to paint the textures of the diatonic accordion.
I looked for reference patterns to ornament and, next time I will try to finish.
Tomorrow I will be absent, because I will have a job to do. As soon as I finish I will be back.

Hope you like it!

Hey guys!

First of all, I want to ask for forgiveness for my absence because I was busy on a job that appeared to finish.
Today I finished painting the village musician.
I finished the diatonic accordion, giving it some adornments to make it more appealing.
Tomorrow I will test a new thing in the character, which I will later reveal.

Hope you like it!

Hello friends!

@Rute_Perdiz has been adding “real” fur to the musician. We needed to determine if this would be a good approach for the FMV.
The conclusion is that probably it’s way too much trouble for the added quality
…We’re going to try an alternative method to add the fur appearance. It has worked before, on a client project I’ve worked on recently, and it’s so lightweight that we can even use it even in-game. Also it’s mostly undistinguishable of particle fur from 1 meter away from the character.

Hey guys!

I apologize for the absence, I had some work on hand.
Today I started a new character for the village. She will be the farmer.
I drew up a simple sketch to be able to have a reference and I have already modeled the sweater and the vest.
Tomorrow I hope to model the skirt and scarf.

Hope you like it!

Hey guys!

Today I completely finished the painting of our farmer in the village.
Tomorrow I will try a different shape in relation to the fur, so that it looks more like fur.
Then, I’m going to start a new character.
