Restraunt Scene

Okay, I am currently “new” to Blender… although I signed up to these forums in March? I haven’t really been using blender =/… now, I figured I’d give it another go.
Basically, what I am working on here is:

  1. Modeling
  2. Lighting
  3. Materials/Textures
  4. Depth of Field rendering
  5. All Together Rendering :s
the renders of what I have so far are attached below… (Just the wine glasses and Wine Bottle are done modeled) If you can offer help, feel free to do so =)

Try this:

If your using 2.49: Go into your World setting.(Press f5 a couple times to get there, or via the mouse) Next to Mist/Bullets/Physics there is tab called Amb occu (or something close), click the tab and select either Raytrace or Approximate and render

If your using 2.5 Go to world settings, which should be the third icon from the left in your properties menu. (looks like a world) scroll right til you see Ambient Occlusion, go ahead and put a check mark, pick Raytrace or Approx and render

Until you get textures, and use to lighting, this is a quick and easy default way to achieve what is also referred to as a “clay render”

Also from the World tab you can change the background color from something other than the default blue.

Happy blending and welcome

Edit: Also, for your bottle with the cork, make sure its double sided. You need to define the outside layer of glass as well as the inside, like you have demonstrated already with your glasses. Not sure if you have or have not, but figured i’d tell you anyway.

I was using Blender 2.49, but a friend of mine suggested getting Blender 2.5 Alpha… so, it seems I need to remake everthing… just want to say… i fell in love with the new Blender UI and i will use the render occlusion thanks =)… but I’m going to be playing around the UI for a little, figured out most things, but not how to specify number of faces and anything I figured out in the original Blender lol
EDIT: Here’s some new renders of the wine glasses + wine bottle… not textured… just default lighting and everything =)
