Restricting the number of verticies when converting curves

How can I restrict the number of verticies created when converting curves/paths into meshes ? I end up with hundreds more than I need. As I’m only using a simple path I could easily get around this just by placing vertices where I need them, but I was just wondering if it is possible in case I need to use more complex curves (also curves are easier to make into better shapes).

With the Resol U and V buttons you can choose the level of definition (and vertexs).
Obviously greter values make more vertices!

Or use the Decimator tool after you’ve converted the Curve to a Mesh (Edit tools section) to actually specify the number of vertices that you want as the end result.
