I have been trying to learn blender for sometime now - and I have a question related to the retopology workflow - I have been following some tutorials on youtube, regarding working with shrink wrap modifier, along with mirror modifier in my retopology workflow.
However, I am running into issues already, and its going back to the stage where I am thinking of handpicking the vertices and manually moving them. So as I now get started on this, just wanted to ask any of you veterans out there - if there is a better way of quickly retopolgizing your models imported into blender.
there is an add-on i think it’s called surface curves or something. i’ll take a look for it…
(edit) it’s called ‘bsurfaces’. there appears to be one called ‘contours’ as well.
Also I have been debating buying contours myself. To be honest I am trying out Bsurface now and it is really good and allows you to do many things including organic modelling Contours seems to have some retopology specific tools that they are still perfecting on but it looks to be a very quick workflow, so it is also worth checking out. http://cgcookie.com/downloads/contours-retopology-tool/
