Return animation scrubbing back to 2.79? (remove box select for timeline, dope sheet, graph editor?)

In 2.8, they changed the timeline where primary clicking and dragging on a timeline no longer scrubs through the frames but instead is a box select. The change I am referring to can be found here . The only way to scrub is to drag the mouse on the small bar at the top that holds the frames. This change does not really make sense (you can not select anything in the timeline to begin with except markers) and slows down the animation process. After looking for a while I can not find any option to return back to how it was originally.

Within the change it was suggested that scrubbing could be changed to a hotkey, so you hold spacebar and then scrubbing works like how it originally was. This could be an option but it was not followed up on.

How can I make the timeline scrubbing easier without having to move my mouse every time to the frames bar? How can we have click and dragging anywhere scrubs like how it was prior to 2.8?

Shift+RMB or Alt+Scrollwheel still seem to scrub for me. Might be able to find those in the keymap editor and change them to your desired keys.

Scrubbing with left click is still in the right click select map, so just switch to that and look up how they do it in the keymap.

You most certainly can - LMB is used to select keyframes.

Yes, I just realized that the timeline got rid of the yellow lines to indicate keyframe.

Thanks @obsurveyor @xrg. The right click shift drag is what I was looking for. It would be nice still to have an option to get rid of box select and return to how it was prior 2.8
