Very early this year I finished a character and posted him in Finished Projects, but I’m back on him working on textures and stuff.
The major change:
He’s gone through several peer reviewed revisions:
Removed intensity from iris, toned down brightness of sclera even more, added hair color. removed intensity of pore detail. rejected because upper forehead problem and contrasting shadows on face
Removed light, fixed hair problems by removing a shadow buffered lamp and returning to oldschool raytracing. rejected because mood was to dark for subject matter.
Return of warmth but to image. rejected because modeling needed to be revisited, reason being that the cuffs were to rounded and needed to be flattened out. also created crease on legs of shorts.
at this time, I also added a simple light created background, which is subject to change for not really having any purpose lol current version:
I have a few questions, and please feel free to go all out with criticism, This is for my upgraded portfolio that I need to finish up as I’m finishing high school and applying to art colleges.
first off: The final image was photoshopped because of some strange errors in the hair from the halo lamp? see:
Strange bright pixels coming through areas where there’s objects blocking the light… It comes out really strongly in the final composite. I tried changing the render filter from Gaussiant to Mitch, and it didn’t change anything. ideas?
also alternative ideas for the background would be cool. Someone suggested Because of the working gloves he looked kind of like a miner and I should give him a miners hat as well an do an image of him exploring. Although intriguing I foresee nightmares of having a hat on top of a hair sim XD
As always thank you very much for reading this WALL OF TEXT to help me. You guys are all saints and I would never have gotten anywhere without your help and inspiration in the galleries here.
