revolutionary commercial. Edited: check first post

I had a very weird experience this morning. I recieved a white enveloppe with nothing written on it but my name an address. Inside was a dvd in a white sleeve with nothing written on it but:“C’est toi?”(“is that you?” in french). Nothing is written on the dvd itself so I put it in my dvd player. then what I see is awsome. It’s a harsh video close to Tetsuo by Shinya Tsukamoto for those who know. Weird colors, weird noises, weird subject: A man walking in a street at night, a bunch of kids having a chat on a beach, a women with an umbrella. Then we see a hand with a car key and a symbole like the one encarved on the gear shift lever (i dunno how it’s really called in english sorry :expressionless: ). Then it ends. No ending credits, no brand nothing. But we know here in Belgium and France that it’s a commercial for the Renault Clio, because we’ve already seen the symbol in tv commercial.
Quick, efficient and artistic. That’s what I call commercial.
Congratulation Renault and thanks for this very special moment.
I wish you all could see this video.
See you.

----------------<EDIT>------------
As Altaken proposed, here’s the link to that weird video.
Bear in mind that when I say revolutionary commercial, I don’t mean the video itself is revolutionary. (It’s very creative though) What is revolutionary is the fact that the brand is never written any where: on the enveloppe, on the dvd nor even in the video. People know what this commercial is about. That’s revolutionary. And another thing: The risk they take by doing so weird and dark video commercial.
Here it is: http://membres.lycos.fr/igorsandman/Renault.avi
It’s divx codec 5.05 and the file is about 18Mb(it’s quite a long movie)
Enjoy.

PS: Sorry for the long post.

And after that you had only 42 hours to live?
sounds artistic, but they sent this to only certain people? not to an entire bunch?

strange…

Roel

Lol. I hope I’m not cursed.
I don’t know who they sent that to. I thought they would send it to only young people, but I asked a friend of mine (same age, neighbourg town) and he didn’t recieved it. I really wonder what they are doing.

upload it please

Alltaken

I don’t think I’m allowed to do that. Anyway, I might be an outlaw once in a life time;).
It’s mpeg2. I should try to convert it to divx and see how big the file is.
Stay tuned.

its an advertisment.

you know they would be Soooooooooo glad that you are spreading the word for them without them needing to pay for it

i thik you should ask them to pay you LOL

obviously their advertising is working well if its spreading on the net

Alltaken

:-?

They call that a commercial?

I just watched that, and it DOES NOT make me want to buy that car.

First of all its just a regular old Renault hatchback. Its a regular old little car for driving on little roads in little countries.

Secondly…that crap just freaks me out. Mostly the noises. If you got rid of that part, and played fun music in the background, it’d just be stupid looking. But because of the sound effects its just like a rip off of the Ring, which in itself is a rip off of something else.

Awesome IS!! My housemate is going to love seeing this ad. Back in the day he had a Renault and it was his favourite car in the world!!

At least some one who like it. God damn it I thought I was an alien. Every one I show this to tells me it’s crap. I love it. IMO

The brand does appear in one spot, as the car comes towards you, you can see the renault logo on the front of the car.
Loved the commercial though, damn why can’t renaults be available in the USA :frowning:
Desoto-111:a regular old Renault… hmmm must know much about renault… %|

I’ve been to England several times where they drive and advertise these things, and to me they look like the cars built in the US in the 80’s.

yea to an extent they do alot of them arn’t what I’d call beauty, except maybe the renault alpine
but for example look into the renault r5 maxiturbo, thats no horrible 80’s car, even if its a hell of an ugly one
