hello folks.

Sadly due to a recent upgrade on my pc I lost the Colt M1911 project because I forgot to backup my files:( No matter though since I have put a little work back into my old revolver:evilgrin: Not only that but im dipping my toes into uv mapping (Future updates) and node editing:p

nice gun it looks very realastic

Cheers mate  Believe it or not it isn’t based on any perticular gun so that comment means alot if it looks realistic, thankyou.

hah nice to know that.

No comments anyone? :frowning:

It looks quite finished.

Well there are a few more things I would like to do to it but good to know that it looks almost finished
Ty for comment.

I like the modeling, gj on that.
As for the steel part, the color seems off a bit, but it still looks great!

Put some bullets inside :stuck_out_tongue:

About the colors, the muzzel has that blueish hue to it because I used an extremely reflective chrome material. The body itself I put alot of time into trying to get the right specularity and hardness although I agree possibly a little more hardness wouldnt hurt.
Most of these materials will be refined once I get myself into the Uv mapping.

Thankyou too and cheers for the comment

It’s looking good, but I didn’t see a cylinder release try adding something like this.

Oh thanks for pointing that out

Peace

Great! It looks very realistic.
Any idea for an animation with this model? It could be the main “character” of a short story…

Woa, are you saying that the bumps on the handle is not texture but a mesh??
If that is the case, make a low poly handle and bake a normal map from the high poly handle and put it on the low poly.

Acides Animes: Firstly thankyou  and yes I may possibly make a a short animation although I havnt really thought much about doing it as of yet.

DDD: Yes, every bump is a mesh on the handle it is not a texture. That is why the poly count is so high. I used the ‘Static’ tool in ZBrush which added the bumps to the mesh. Subsurf is at around 7 on the handle.
Also I have no idea how to bake stuff but I’ll have a look into it.

Ah then this is perfect for you: http://www.blendercookie.com/2010/06/30/normal_maps_blender_2_5/
