Anyone think I should model a aerodynamic shield for the engines?
I think that’s what I’m doing to do for the fixed engines.
Ill be thinking about how to make this aerodynamic until tomorrow…
That would probably be a good idea.
Another topology puzzle/challenge; probably could have been avoided if I separated the ships surface into different panels.
It looks very nice so far. The shield for engines would be great. I’m looking forward to see where all this ends, seems promising!
Not pleased with the topology :
I’m going to redo this part again…
still reworking the topology:
Is it just me or this ship partly resembles the pelican dropship from Halo?
Otherwise coming along really neat!
Lwerewolf, I guess it does.
Topology is getting completed… one more major part on the underside
working on the bottom now:
Bottom complete, the main ship mesh has 0tris. But this part looks rough when subsurf is applied, despite being made completely made of quads.
nice modeling there!
I hope you give special attention to materials and lighting though, that’s what always seems to make or break a good project.
good luck with yours!
Have you tried using the Edge Split modifier with the sub surf for this ship?
nicktechyguy: I will have to try that who gives you those good ideas of yours?
Jeepster: thanks for the complement and the advice.
working on the vector modulation stuff on the engines:
intentional double post
(Ive always wanted to make one)*
Final update for the day:
I have finished the modeling for the engines.(without the aerodynamic shield)
lookin good !!
This is a thing of beauty. Can’t wait to see it finished.
Just Awesome! and are you going to tell us what your plan is?
