You did it again Endi, this is amazing! Good work as always.

wow

endi you are god, and that only took an hour to model?

a couple of questions if you dont mind;
what level of subsurf did you use and whats the poly count before you turned on subsurf?

how did you go about modeling that?
using primatives, or ctrl clicking to make everything?
again, ARE YOUR GOD?

thx.
As you see on the phases, the modeling was ~3 hours. And this is not a good model. But I am lazy to make pictures like this, and boring for me.

So this is not a good model, only a simple low-poly model.

And I am not a god, I am an inferior creature, living in dirt and dung.

if i could model that well, i would be over the moon, all i can make is reflective spheres :stuck_out_tongue:

now i can’t see the diference betwin a photo and your render. :o

thats awsome work.

almost perfect…

Beautiful work endi. Thanks for sharing your process with us.

Amazing textures and compositing! :o

Endi, this is quite a great achievement, whether u’ll admit it urself or not

The first composition, in my opinion, seems absolutely perfect! One thing that really goes straight to the heart is the quality and realism (or so it seems to me) of the specular shine of the rhino! It probably shouldn’t mean so much, but that REALLY makes the pic for me! The lighting in the composite is also a very great thing, of which you should be proud of =)

In my very humble opinion, this reminds me very much of the Oliphaunt from the Two Towers and ROTK in terms of texturing quality (yeah yeah, they had 20bajillion by 20bajillion pixel textures, but that’s for movies and by a small army of artists, this texture is perfect, and the detail you squeezed into it is amazing!)

I really can only critique one thing, which is pretty minor in itself… The way the eye is placed, the “bulge” around it doesn’t look quite so and so…

But completely and utterly overall, amazing work, as expected from the digital magician Endi!

(BTW, thanx so much for the blend files you gave out forever ago! I never thanked you for it, and I may as well do it here =) They helped me out so much, and I guess its just a great source of inspiration! Thanx =))

BTW, have u posted on CGTalk/similar? I think this would get some pretty rave reviews! If you haven’t, I so heavily urge you to do so, and if you have, link plz? lol

(BTW, sorry for posting again, there was no option for “Edit” on my message for some reason :-?)

Great texture work endi.

I agree, the model could use some work, especially the area where the legs attach to the body.

The composite is fantastic. Well done again.

BgDM

thx
I know, this is not a good model, and texturing too.

But I posted it to CgTalk:

has pixar offered you a job yet? they ought to…

i recon endi is realy someone high in the ranks of pixar or square, and just comes here to show off some of his quick low poly count work :stuck_out_tongue:

you are truly a great adversary to blender.

if you need anyone to complent you, look no futher, your work is amazing.

The picture is great, only one observation (and this assumes that you are going for realism) the color is wrong. Are not rhinos more gray or maybe it is just my vision going.

Speechless mode :o :o :o :o :o :o

Wow you have got that UV mapping down I’d say.

huh, I dont understand, I just dont, how you can do so much in one hour.

the texturing job is great.
is it all hand painted or did you use photo as parts of it?
