Richard Lico gave a talk during Siggraph 2018 (https://vimeo.com/297804505).

He talks about baking, tweaking and re-tracking empties in World Space to automatically generate secondary motion.

I would be interested in what people think of this approach, albeit I can bake a bone’s motion… I’m not sure if we can do this. Very happy to be told I am missing something obvious.
