Hello. I wanted the knees to point forward but-
I tried changing pole angle and repositioning the pole target but the legs flipped the wrong way everytime…
For a two-bone IK, the first bone in the chain will point its +X axis at the pole target at an angle of 0. If you want simple, perfect poles, make them by duplicating that bone and moving in normal X.
Most people that are having trouble with poles probably don’t want poles. They are optional. You can just as easily control the rotation of a 2-bone IK with a parent bone for the chain.
Understood. However there is also an “Auto IK” option that I had seen. Would there be any reason to not use Auto IK to animate character rigs?
Yes, it interpolates differently.
