Rig lags ONLY when within frame of the camera?

Oh boy, its just one problem after the next for me

For some reason, my rig lags a lot in both animations and pose mode when within the frame of my camera.

Basically all the videos and posts I’ve seen tackling such issues don’t really help me, since I have an optimized mesh (~7k tris, no subdivision modifiers, only a solidify modifier for a stylized outline but it’s currently disabled), am doing this all in solid view and have everything else disabled in viewport rather than just hidden. Everything was working perfectly fine a few days ago and the only thing that’s really changed is the fact that I added a handful of particle systems for fur (rendering as planes), but as you can see, they’re completely disabled right now. Tried making a proxy without them, issue still persisted.

The main odd thing is that for some reason, as seen in the video, all the rig’s lag is gone the moment it leaves the frame of the camera. Yes, I collapsed the other display and it still persisted, my computer may not be the fittest but it’s not that far gone.

That part confuses me the most. Why does it only lag when within the camera frame? How can I fix this? So far the only temporary fix I’ve found for this is to severely decimate my mesh, but I just think that’s ridiculous since it was perfect just days ago.

Hi, sorry from the example clip you posted nothing looks out of the ordinary.
Can you please link your file so we can check it.

Was getting the Blend file ready to send and it’s… magically fixed??? ? ?? somehow? ? I have no idea what just happened or what’s different now other than the fact that I no longer have a game updating in the background so it might’ve just been my computer being weird??

I feel a little silly now but thanks for your willingness to help at least, I guess?

So uh, in conclusion - Don’t have other stuff going on when you’re trying to use Blender and have an average laptop

Yes, I always switch off any updates when working with animations.
