Rigged mesh moves in reverse direction

i have set the parent with automatic weights for the mesh to connect it to my bones, and everything works perfectly except that when I do any kind of movement with the bones on the left side, the bones and the mesh on the right side automatically gets affected but in the reverse order.
i.e.
when the bones on the left are moved in front, then the bones on the right move in the same field but in reverse order.
