Rigging and weight mechanics Mesh scaling and unexpected deformations

I’m newish to modeling (however excited) but especially new to rigging and animation, I’m having issues with my mesh scaling upon joint rotation and slight anomalous deformations in in mesh that i cant eliminate… also should the model follow the bone precisely or should it lag behind as depicted here… if someone could point out obvious errors or help me understand how this works i would appreciate it. here is an image to illustrate my issue (i can’t post more, as a neophyte)

Hiya,

you need to post the blend file then you’ll get help I’m sure

you probably won’t be about to post on BA because you don’t have enough Post under your belt yet…

go here…

http://www.pasteall.org/
and post your blend file there… note that they have a special blender posting area in the upper right side of the site…

then come back here and give us the URL of where your file post is at…

mean while you can select your Mesh and Tab into edit mode…
then select a Vertex in the area where your having some weighting trouble…

in the Right Hand Tools Panel there should be a box that comes up called…
“Vertex Weights” …
in that box it should list all the bones that are having influence on that vertex

that should give you some idea if there are other bones influencing those particular Vertices’s or not
