Rigging not working right.

I’m new to rigging models, and I’m having a problem. Every time I start to pose the object, it flips out. The arm moves the torso, and head. And the left leg bone moves the right leg for no reason. I also think that right leg also moves the torso too. Looks like this:

How do I fix this?

I just start doing this 2 days ago, so any technical terms; I will not understand. I’m also a very fast learner.

You probobly have your vertices weighted to the wrong bones.

Click on your character, and go to “Weight Paint” mode. Everything should turn Blue/green/ yellow/red

Then right click on the arm. You want only the arm vertices to be red, and everything else to be blue. You can do this by adjusting the strength in the tools panel by pressing “T” it is in the top part of the panel. a value of 1 is red. a value of 0 is blue. so on the arm, paint the torso and all other wrong areas blue. Then click on the torso, and make sure that is red, while everything else is blue. Other colors such as green, and yellow are intermediary weights. for example, if you want a joint to be affected half way by one bone, and half way by another bone, you would put .5 (green) weight on those vertices for each bone.

discribe to us how you Parented your Mesh to your Armature…

I’m geussing there was some error in what happened there…

If you have Parented it … then un-parented it… and then ReParented it… and then did something else and the tried to ReParent it again…

everytime you do that you add new vertex groups to your Mesh… at this point you have a bunch of Vertex Groups that don’t need to be there…

If so…

then the best thing to do is to delete the Armature … AND… delete all the Vertex Groups on the Mesh…

then come back and do your Ctrl+P automatic weights…

and at least at this stage you have a clean slate on your Mesh…
