Hey guys. So I made a human model in blender. Now I would like to rig and texturize it. The question is what to do before, rigging or texturing? If I can proceed with rigging without texturing first should I uv unwrap before starting to rig? Thanks in advance.
In my opinion it has no importance
I think it’s better to texture before weighting because it can let you see problems with your weights in improper distortion of the texture. Without any UV mapped textures, all you can see is the shape of a model, not how each individual loop is deforming.
Thank you very much.
I would say it depends.
In my experience I need to change the mesh sometimes to get a better deformation while I rig and in this case the UV gets destroyd often.
I prefer to rig the mesh first before texturing.
If you have a rig that works already with a mesh flow you can texture first before rig it.
