I know that alot of people (including me) use weight painting to connect an armature to a mesh but I was wondering if there are other ways to connect an armature to a mesh.
Thanks

If you put both the object and the armature into Object mode, then first select the object then shift select the armature and press Ctrl+P and choose “With automatic weights”. Then Blender will wight paint the object for you but you might want to use weight paint to fine tune it since it sometimes need some tweeking.
Or it will say make parent to …armature…create from bone heat
Ok, thanks, i’ll give those options a try
you can also use shape key drivers or add a lattice modifier with hooks
