I am informed that when you’re texturing using images, the order of the various texture maps in the texture channel is key. If that is true what is the right heirachy when texturing an image using Colour Map, Spec Map, Diffusion Map, Bump Map, Displacement Map and Dirt Map?
The order of the textures is sometimes important (e.g. with alpha or in stencil mode), but certainly not always. Blender executes the textures one after the other and then superimposses them. Luckely Blender shows you the result in the preview, so experment with it.
