Rigid Body Physics not working properly for falling chain animation

Hi, I’m trying to create an animation of falling chain. I mean it will be controlled (animated) later when the bottom part (anchor) reaches the seabed.

The Problem I’m facing is the chains are always breaking at random points, I want to control the top part chain to be animated, but when I change the setting of active rigid body from dynamic to animated, the chains break every time.

Can anyone help me with this !

Hello and welcome to the BA forums.

Make the Mass higher. That makes the mesh stronger.
Is the scale correctly applied ?

Scale everything up by 10x

…adding a little explanation here:

Blender seems to be better while simulating things if they are scaled up above their original size…

…but don’t ask why…

and welcome :tada:

Thanks @Matakani , it worked. I used “Calculate Mass” to get the idea of mass, then adjusted according to the objects. Also, first I got confused with scaling. I was like what’s that? but then realised that scaling up somehow improved the simulation.

@joseph :joy: yea it worked !

Okidoki I wish blender physics to exist in real life :face_with_hand_over_mouth:

Thanks for help
