Rigify rotates and scales my mesh when parenting

Hi Blenders and Blenderettes,
I have a big problem with my character mesh.
I imported an old FBX of an old character I made during education in Maya.
Import is nice, was just the mesh with blendshapes.
Those work fine. All transforms are applied.
Now if I try to parent my character to my Metarig, the character rotates around the x-axis -90° and scales up 10 times.
This is really weird, as I said all transforms are applied,so there shouldn’t be any transformation while parenting.
The Metarig doesn’t have any transforms either.

I would really appreciate it, if someone could nudge me in the right direction.

That is odd. Is this something you don’t mind posting so others can take a look?

The only part of this scenario that sounds familiar is the scaling… which I’ve run into a few times when importing/exporting, but usually with OBJ format. The x-rotation thing is just weird. If anything, I’d expect a y/z axis switch.

Hi, its the Empty that needs apllying all transforms, you need to enlarge it so you can select it and select the mesh, then apply all transforms. that should fix it.
