Rip or Rip_Move in Script

Is it it possible to use or bpy.ops.mesh.rip_move from a script? I’ve been trying to do it, but it doesn’t seem to work. It doesn’t error or anything, but it doesn’t perform the rip either.

You should be able to do this from a script, but probably not on a frame-by-frame basis.

The docs do mention…

Rip selection from mesh (quads only)

Is your mesh made up of quads or is it triangles?

Yes, they are all quads. It’s odd because I even get the Rip options in the toolshelf.
