Ririka Likeness

Hi. Here’s my likeness of Ririka. I had fun creating this project and I learned a lot. I used Blender Texture Paint for creating most of the maps. For the hair, I used Blender particles with children settings. Rendered in Blender Cycles.

This is really impressive! It could use a more dynamic light set up to show off all the nice detail.

This is very, very good, but maybe you could try softening or lowering the intensity of the bump map?
Also, it might be good to put it through GIMP and stretch the contrast, before you put a little bloom on it. I played with your image in GIMP a little, just to see how it might look. Do you mind if I show it? If not, no problem.

Sure, no problem. I want to see the result too so I know what I can improve.

Here’s what I got. May have a little bit too much bloom.

EDIT: What I did was blur her skin a little, streched the contrast of the image, and add some bloom by blurring a copy of the image after selecting only certain values using the “threshold” tool and putting it over the original image as a “soft light” layer.

This is great! I can really see an improvement in the image. Thanks for this!
