Risk of Rain 2 - Halloween Contest - “And so they came…”

The developpers of the video-game Risk of Rain, Hopoo Games, involved their community in this Artwork contest, whose theme was Halloween !

The aim was to depict the Risk of Rain universe by adding a Halloween touch, so I decided to redesign two main characters of the game (Commando and Acrid) to fit more in the theme.

I learnt a lot in the process of making folds with clothes by sculpting, even if I have a lot more to learn. This is also my 2nd attempt at full-character creation and I begin to become more comfortable in the process.


Clay render

I used personnal photo-scanned assets (rocks and branches) to fill the scene, and mainly used textures.com and texturehaven.com textures for leaves and ground.

Blender has been used for modeling, scene setup and rendering, sculpting has been made in ZBrush, texturing in Substance Painter, and compositing in Photoshop.

Trees have been created with the great Blender add-on, TheGrove.
