Robocop (80's Version)

Hello all!

Hoping for a little advice on how to proceed with this model. I started this model a couple of years ago and am just now getting back to it.

I am currently stuck on the armor breastplate and wondered how you guys might retopo this piece. Here is a wireframe view with a pole highlighted. I need to get rid of that, just not sure how. I have other errors all over this mesh, I know.

Add an hexagonal pattern to those black areas. I am also making something like that one. I used hexagonal patterns on those joints. Mine fits a person inside though.
