Robot arm animation IK problem

Hello, I am having a problem with an IK Solver. I have this robot arm I have created being controlled by an IK chain.

Everything works fine until it comes time to start inserting keyframes in pose mode. I can create keyframes in the action editor but when I press play, nothing happens.

I have traced the problem back to the IK solver, because everything else in the rig seems to animate fine.

The problem only comes into play when I use the IK solver to animate.

You seem to be trying to add the IK constraint to the IK controller. You need to add it to the lower armbone being controlled, with the IK controller as target. The fact that the name of the constraint is in red tells you that it is not functioning (because you haven’t provided a target).
