Hello. I’m new here. I’ve been using blender for a few years but there’s so much I don’t know so i’m trying to branch out more and improve all the time.
I downloaded a motion capture BVH fle, opened it in blender and made a quick simple robot over the top. Then I assigned the bones one by one to the respective mesh parts via ‘set parent to bone’ (as I understand it this means I get no strange deformations). As it’s a metal robot, I don’t want the majority of the parts to deform, so this generally works - but I DO want the central rings to deform, and for the shoes to bend like shoes do to.
How do I do this?
I tried parenting to the bones via ‘with automatic weight’ but each time I get crazy results with mad deformations which don’t make much sense. I have tried and tried to find a solution to this, but so far - no luck. Can anyone here help me out?
Many thanks!
