I like robots. I think they will take over the world and KILL ALL HUMANS, tee hee, and then I shall kill them all with lightning bolts and enjoy relative peace for so many years - ahhhh, bliss. So anyway, I was wondering, does anyone know where the word ‘Robot’ comes from? I know, but I’m not telling (I know it’s easy to say that but it’s true).
it comes from the word robota meaning ‘forced labour’…

this looks like a post increasing thread
[sarcasm]Oh, I never would have guessed scotland[/sarcasm] and thor, can you stop this god thing, it’s starting to annoy me. Maby you should be on the annoying poll.
I think it came from the russian word for indentured servent.
Goo
Forced labour is right. It’s czech, i think.
D.
In don’t know about robot, but i know “android” means “human-like”
I also know that “sabotage” comes from “sabo”, which is a wooden shoe which some people (i forget who) threw into the machinery at the factory they were forced to work at, hence the saying “to throw a shoe in the works”…okay, spanner, but it’s the same idea…
You’re quite close: According to my book ‘robot’ is Czech for ‘Low-grade worker’. Does anyone here think that robots will take over the world? What dou you think about AI? Are you all going to DIE? Actually, yes you are, because death comes to all people.
unless you are a god
Thor, quiet down about robots killing mankind. Even if it does happen, you won’t survive Ragnarok. Jormungand will see to that.
Robots rule. “AI” is the best summer film yet. I think robots won’t enslave us unless they’re really evil and controlled by one of those mad-scientist guys.
unless you are a god[/quote]
Even if you’re a god infact, as I will prove when I stab thor on monday
Nah, I’m still alive! See!
Just wait until Ragnarok :<
