Rolling Blob :P

Lately Ive been messing around with different things just to get better at blender, and right now im making a blob :P. So far I have a softbody sphere, and it just bounces. How would I go about making it roll away or something on a flat plane?

EDIT: Also, with softbody, how do I keep something from jittering around when its still? Is it tension that causes that?

You can’t stop the jitters, it is one of the limitations of softbodies. At least, I can’t figure out how to make it come to rest. Move your camera, or have the object roll out of view.

You have to have some kind of slope to make it roll, and there is always going to be a little bit of jitter, but if you play around with the settings you can get it to stay pretty calm. I haven’t messed with softbodies in months, so I’m not sure exactly what to do off the top of my head…
