Thank you, really!! Wow, you are pretty close to Guadix then!, glad to hear that hahaha
And yes, I’ve thought about the VR, but I don’t have the time nor the resources to develop the project. This, I intend to give it to the city (ayuntamiento) so they can use the renders to make our city more appealing, maybe a 3D reconstruction like a mockup or miniature made with 3D-printers and so…
Wow really great, love this kind of projects, I guess you come from the course from @PatrimVirtual in twitter.
Cada vez que he ido de vacaciones a Almería que es mi segunda casa, adoraba oír que estaba ya en Guadix. I rarely enter to look at these threads, but glad I did, @Musashidan Didn’t know you lived in our country!
There’s a big update. For the last couple of days I’ve focused on the terrain, landscape, trees, fields, etc… There’s still work to do, but I see the light at the end of the tunnel.
I’ve also changed both the structure of the Forum (I’ve added a basilica, for example) and the platform upon which the city is placed.
I would say yes, I’ve rendered a couple of images from a pedestrian point of view, and it looks well overall. There are some parts where more details are needed, but it’s pretty consistent, all things considered.
Well, I’ve been working on this project for the last two weeks tirelessly because I’ve been involved in this project far too long and I wanted to get it out of the way. I don’t rule out future changes, but I’m calling it a day.
The urban planning of the city of Acci has taken into account all the existing documentary and archaeological sources - scarce, very scarce - relating to findings from the Roman and late Roman period. It still requires correction by two professors whom are experts in archeology and classical History in order to bring the reconstruction closer to a more reliable model.
I’ve balanced both the “wow” effect and the clarity of the illustration and its historical/archaeological fidelity.
Here I leave the render. Criticism is always welcome!
Thank you! The Grease pencil (or the free style option in Blender) gives a nice touch to it. It really helps to draw attention to the city, since the scene itself is massive!
I think is was a good choice to tune the GP a bit down… It’s still there, but it doesn’t obscure the details in the buildings… specially the theater and the coliseum.
