Roman head busto with real selfportrait

It’s me, except for hair style sculpted inspiring to Augustan bustos real photos references. The head raw model was made in photogrammetry with Autodesk 123d catch. Lots of work on luna marble material.

Nice scene, but i dont think the lighting is very suitable for this. It feels a bit strange

Detail on the subject

Hairs look like a can of warms. You had a nice initial scan, I think you had spoiled it with obsessive sculpting. So I don’t like the sculpt, let me put it blunt.

On the other hand, the scene looks intriguing and unusual. You have maybe overdone with focus blur.

Overall this is quite a good piece of Blender art.

You definetely have a talent!

Wow…Awesome …I like it

Yes maybe I can fix the sculpting making it less sharp. It hink it’s much better from the other view I posted. The effect you’re talking about it’s probably enfatized by the dirty map obtained with vertex paint.
Thanks for your suggests.

I think it’s quite the opposite: the sharper the face features are the better. Actually your scan based sculpt lacks sharp facial features. But hairs look better in the opposite way: less details, more volume and form.

And I dare one more tip: the base for the bust looks too small, it seems that the bust is collapsing.

But your rendering is very good!

Yes it’s a bit too small probably. Thanks for your hints!
