I’m just wondering what you all think about my attempt at making a rope (its not a whole rope just a test to see if i could make it):
Well, to be honest, it looks like a section of steel cable. Rope should have alot more texture to the surface of the strands, fibers and the like.
Also, we do have a “Tests” forum for a reason.

Fixit with a texture. Strand spacing may be a little too much.
Modeling a rope is not really a good way to go, it is too time consuming, and will have an excessive amount of polygons. It is much better to use a standard cylinder, or even an extruded square in place, and use a texture with normal mapping.
You could model a small section and then array it.
