I loved Andrew Price’s tutorial and thought I would give it a try! Any and all critics are welcome!
Nice work! The petals kind of look dry and brittle for some reason though… Anyways nice use of DOF!
I like it!
… and I agree whit Phoenix
Very Nice, like Phoneix Said DOF is gud Can u please add more camera angles.
Regarding what PhoenixSmith said, I think the bump on the petals is too strong. Also, a little too close up. But great work none the less.
Thanks guys! I definitely agree with the bump. It was worse before I softened the image so I will give it another try. I am also trying to add some water droplets on it as well. We will see how it turns out.
Slight update. Turned down the bump, changed the flower texture a bit, and added water droplets. Let me know what you think!
No they’re not. =) I love the scene, the materials are all awesome. Your last update was a huge improvement, too.
Stunning beutifull work ,il love it
Funny that; I though the heavier bump was too soft!
My jaw literally dropped open when I saw this. I can just smell the flower :3 Absolutely BEAUTIFUL. I’d like to see how you did the water droplets
Consider sumbitting it here- http://blendergraphictutorials.com/constuctive-criticism/
I really like the image and would love to post it on my site and critque. Nice use of water droplets!
Thank you so much everyone! I appreciate all of the feed back.
The water droplets were done by modeling a few different drops from uv spheres then placing them with a particle system. The trickiest part was getting them in right spot with a vertex group. But other than that it was a pretty basic particle system.
I am really impressed with how nicely the rose is modeled… I kind of get the theme you went with, but I’d still like to see what this would look like with red roses
Looks decent, but composition is bad. If focus is in the mid flower it shouldnt overlap images edges, it creates tension that isnt really wanted in image like this.
very nice work i love blue color
G_T
Thanks for the critique! I’m not sure what you mean by “overlap images edges” though. So should the whole flower be in the image?
Ok I know that I should probably just move this thread to WIP but I thought I would be finished with the first image. Luckily I have gotten a lot of constructive crits which I think have helped a lot. So here is another version in red. It is low res and grainy right now so I will bump up the samples tonight.
Hey McDavid, which image do you want me to critique?
How about the second blue one. Blue with droplets.
