rotating rig

Hi,
I am trying to rotate a rigged model by 90 degree. In Object mode, I select the model and then the rig and rotate them together. Then reset with cntrl-A.

Is this the correct way to do this?

no, you got it all wrong…
there is no point in touching the mesh when it’s rigged…
you first set up you rig, then parent the mesh to the rig (armature) - you can do this in many different ways, each way has its advantages and disadvantages…

now to answer your question, the simplest way is to parent your mesh to the armature and choose “bone heat” from the context menus when you parent it… then select the armature, go to pose mode (ctrl-tab) then move the bone to wherever you want or rotate it 90 degrees…

Found an answer. Rotate the skeleton in object mode. Then select the model in object mode and cntrl-a. The important thing is to NOT cntrl-a the skeleton.

depends, press N and look at the rotations of the model and the armature. For the model, if it’s rotated, you can safely rotate it and do ctrl-A, for the rig, just to be safe, set the 3Dcursor to the origin of the armature at object level, then in editmode, select ALL the bones, and rotate 90 degrees around your axis of choice.
