Rotation Acceleration Help

How would you animate a object (wheel, fan blade, propeller or what ever) so that it slowly starts spinning and accelerates to a given speed and then stays at the top speed for the rest of the animation?

I have made static spinning objects but would love to have them “start up.”

IPO curve.

Select the object, go to the IPO window, If it alredy has a rotation there will be an IPO curve for that. Edit the points as for any Bezier curve.

To make an object start up like that
[>] Add 2 keyframes for the rotation, ine whan it starts and one when it hits top speed.
[>] Go to the IPO window (Shift+F6) and select the rotation in the list on the right
[>] Click the button that has a dot with an arrow going off at an angle
[>] Select the curve and press Tab
[>] Make the first tangent horizontal and the second tangent angled at the speed you want it to rotate at.
