Hello all,

Damn it’s been along time since I posted here at Elysiun.
(Almost a Year)

I have been so damn busy with school that I haven’t had much time. for anything else. But I have got some of my new 3d work to show how much I have grown. I felt it necessary to post my work because my roots are buried deep in the blender community and it’s where I got my start in 3d and All the people here who helped me and I am extremely grateful for all of your guys Crits and Ideas and help. You all know who you are.

Anyway with that out of the way I feel the need to give a little background on this model.

I am coming into my 3rd year at Digital Media Arts College.

I have been working on this model for just shy of 2 months. It’s for a friend of mine’s Thesis project to get his BFA in Computer Animation. The Thesis is based on high end rigging using Maya and Syflex. If you don’t know what Syflex is it’s a cloth plug-in that was used in the matrix as well as in Final Fantasy Advent Children. Basically the rigging is going to be using underlying geometry (muscle) that deforms the Skin of the model to get more Realistic deformations in the skin. A lot of Mayor Studios use techniques like this for Rigging. This gets rid of Blend Shapes and Influence objects in Maya. I have completed one of the models required for my Friend to Graduate. I have to complete the other model which is a Horse for the Warrior to ride on. I will be starting that model in a Couple of Days.

The model has 3 layers to it There is the Muscle Geometry that with be driving the skin, then you have the actual skin Geometry, and Finally all the goodies like Armor and Katanas and a chain mace.

There are no Textures on this Model only Simple shaders with a diffuse map and a Reflectivity map that are simple procedural textures that are in Maya.

I know this is a Blender Community but as stated above this is where I started.

I suck at anatomy, but I swear his arms should be a little bigger. With all that muscle on his trunk (torso) he aught to have at least some muscle on the arm.

It was Warrior picture number three that set me off. Maybe its the angle.

WOW! It has been way too long dude. Missed you around here. Hope your mom is doing well too.

This is some serious work. You have improved immensley since I last saw any of your work.

I don’t think the arms are incorrect at all. It is just the camera angles that you have used that throws it off a bit.

I have no crits at all. Just keep stopping by and keep up the great work.

Thanx Dude my mom is doing great now. i will start coming around more and showing off my work as a get into more serious models. Which is going to be soon i start my thesis to graduate Dmac in a few weeks. I have to do 10 production quality models for that bitch(hehe Lots of fun about to start).

thanx for the compliment about getting better i still have to get even better in the next year.

As for the model i have had about 10 people now say the arm looks to small. I dont think it is because the charactor is 8 heads tall and the legth of the arms from finger tip to finger tips is 8 heads tall. but i will tweak it a little form bassed off of it.

Well i have to go bullshit a paper for a class that starts in 20 minutes.
