RTX 3090 Ti: System is out of GPU and shared host memory

I turned it on but I don’t think anything changed.

Can’t post anymore (new user). Anyway:

I did a couple of tests. Basically Blender would always stop if it exceeds about 15000-15100 mb used (what it shows in Blender). I got a scene to render at 14900 and opened up some Chrome tabs with videos and stuff. Total VRAM usage in Task Manager goes to 17-18gb. Render speed isn’t affected by Chrome, it’s lightning fast.
It seems to prove the theory. I think. Two applications can probably use all 24gb as long as they split it evenly.

Was worth a shot.

Maybe have GPU-Z running so you can see VRAM usage and start off smallish number of objects/polygons and then increase a bit at a time and render. See if you can get the 3090 Ti to use 18-20GB.

I wouldn’t have thought you’d need 48GB+ of system RAM in order to use 24GB of GPU VRAM, but I guess you never know.
