run cycle animation

are there any good tutorials for this? i already have a walk cycle, but would have been doing horrible with the run cycle… any links or advice about keyframes.
i don’t want to use ipo’s for it, prefferring key frames instead.

I think you have confusion here; when you set a KeyFrame with I-Key it writes IPO’s and, on the Bones of an Armature, these are automatically written to Keys in the Action Editor.

A RunCycle is practically the same as a WalkCycle. There are two ways you can approach it.

  1. Unlink the WalkCycle in the Action Editor and Add New, then start from scratch and pose the two steps for running.

  2. Don’t unlink it, just press Add New (which will make WalkCycle.001, then click the 2 and make it Single User. Modify the existing walkcycle to make a RunCycle by resetting the Keyframes and changing the Pose on the same frames as the old ones.
