Running a script once!

I have an initialising script that I want to exucute only once at the beginning of my game. Is there an elegant way of doing this?

always(no pulse mode)->python(script)

won’t the script keep on executing itself with the always sensor?

not with pulse mode turned off (it’s in the upper right corner)
